The sentence that changed my desire to “work out”

It (brazilian jiu jitsu) teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person.

I need to learn how to defend myself. I want to learn how to feel safe. Anyone ever tried it before? What do you think?

  1. goodnightrachel said: LOVE IT. I did mixed martial arts for a while and this was one of my favorites. Also great for your legs but keep in mind that this only teaches ground work and you’ll need to know some stand up techniques too.
